  • Feature Requests

    This page lists all existing and not yet implemented feature requests for iFile. These requests might find their way into one of the future releases of iFile.
    • More localizations. If you want to help, send an email.
    • Add hex editor.
    • Add PVR file Video support.
    • Add support for chm file types (compress help pages).
    • Allow running of web server in background.
    • Add support for launching applications from iFile.
    • Add support for changing font size directly in text viewer.
    • Add support for decoding email attachment files (emlx and emlxpart).
    • Allow bookmarking of pages, lines etc. not only documents (PDF, Text, HTML).
    • Allow Resuming of iFile not only to go to previous folder, but open previous viewer with according file.
    • PDF Viewer:
      • Allow PDF content search.
      • Allow hyperlinked table of contents - difficult to impossible. It may be possible to extract the TOC and to show it in extra view.
    • Image Viewer
      • allow image shows
      • allow image manipulation
      • support for animated GIFs
    • Add MobileEnhancer support.
    • Give warning if user tries to open large text files (potenitally crashes iFile today).
    • Update WIFI icon in toolbar when WIFI becomes available - not only after the browser view gets displayed anew
    • add explorers for music library and image library to allow editing (e.g. ID3 tags) and copy/move to other folders
    • show free vs. used space on disk
    • Application Execution
    • Add "Open Terminal Here"
    • Show permissions also in UNIX style -rwxrwxrwx and 0777 style: Does not work well because of limited screen space.
    • Zoom in File Browser View, i.e. make table item font, icon and height smaller/larger by zooming
    • Search GUI for searching files in file system. Should be based on UNIX find.
    • Warn if files to be viewed are too large for according viewer.
    • Text Editor: keep backups when saving and allow save-as.
    • Web Page and File download in Web Viewer
    • overwrite confirmation dialog for
      • unzip
      • possibly web server
    • zip/unzip progress based on zip/unzip console output
    • possibly Applications real or virtual folder in /var/mobile
    • audio file conversion capability from one format to another, especially to get m4r (ring tones)
